CHERTSEY JUMBLE

Katy Wallace and friends Marie Casella and Aimee Sanders put together the Chertsey jumble trail, which was held on Saturday, 1st August.   Katy said, ’I had seen other local towns doing their own thing and thought, why can’t we? A lot of people had a sort out during lockdown of lots of bits and bobs that they would usually take to charity shops or do a car boot.

With the shops shut, I didn’t feel comfortable at a busy car boot so thought selling from our own gardens was a great idea. I put a post on a Chertsey Facebook page to see if there was any interest and decided to make our own Facebook group.

Nearer to the time, we put posters up all around Chertsey to let people know with roads that were participating and put balloons up at each of the events on the day. In the end we had over 30 roads taking part. All in all, it was success and people commented saying it was lovely seeing the community out and enjoying the event. Hopefully we will one day do another but no plans for a date at present.’
