Woodham and New Haw Horticultural Club is a long-established Club, now in its 62nd year, which meets in All Saints New Haw Church Hall, midway between Woking and Addlestone. While most members are local to Runnymede, we welcome members from all round the area, irrespective of where they live. Guests and visitors are very welcome as well. Our Club offers a variety of activities from convivial social evenings with talks on a wide horticultural theme as well as visits to attractive locations in the summer months for people who often have had, and may still have, an active interest in gardening. Our highlight activity is our Annual Show, open to all, on the first Sunday in September while our Annual Plant Sale in New Haw in May is always popular and well attended

The main activity is the social evenings, which take place on Friday evenings 8 months of the year, when members get together to be entertained by quality speakers and to enjoy a sociable and friendly evening out. Of particular interest will be our first ‘in person’ meeting post lockdown on the 1st October at 7.45pm when Pippa Greenwood, well known as an author and television presenter as well as a regular panellist on Gardener’s Question Time, will be our speaker. Entry at £10 is by pre-booked ticket, available from EventBrite or through our website. All are welcome but please book quickly to ensure a place. The entry also includes refreshments, tea/coffee and cakes baked by our members. At this meeting there will also be a fun competition for those who would like to bring 5 dahlias in a vase with prizes for those awarded votes by the members!
In the warmer weather we organise full day visits by coach to gardens, castles, or historic houses of interest. In addition, we visit local gardens, only open to groups, under the auspices of the National Garden Scheme. This year, through our affiliation with the RHS, we were invited to prepare and exhibit a display at the Wisley Autumn Flower Show.
